The C.L.A.S.S. system is an automated security enhancement and supplementary attendance tool for schools.
C.L.A.S.S. documents the interaction of authorized guardians with students arriving or departing the school, as well as visitor and volunteer entry and exit. Users are validated by scanning a driver's license and a user selectable PIN number. In the case of guardians, they select the child or children they are authorized to interact with and choose the appropriate action, such as late arrival, early dismissal or return and the reason for each action (for example the late arrival of students due to illness or medical appointment or early dismissal for the same).
These events and reasons can be customized as needed, and are confirmed or edited by office personnel. This provides the school with accurate supplemental attendance information for use in a variety of reports.
Guardians may also be issued a visitors badge for access to pre-authorized locations such as the cafeteria or their child's home room (this can be done with the attendance event for escort, or as a separate transaction for visitation). Volunteers and other visitors can be similarly validated, and authorized for specific destination within the school.
C.L.A.S.S. even tracks hours and destinations for historical or real time reports. This can be useful for Title 1 documentation, or for recognition of dedicated volunteers.
